My name is Colin Sumner. I am a professional entertainer / musician and I live in
Pretoria, South Africa. I am married with two children, Daniel & Holly. I was
born in Manchester, U.K. and lived there for 29 years before moving to S.A. in
1985. I attended Central High School for Boys (sometimes) from 1967-1972,
where I learnt to play the violin and the trumpet. I am a self taught guitarist and I
also play keyboards. I started playing in various semi-pro bands soon after
leaving school, gigging at the many pubs and working men`s clubs in the
North West of England.

In 1977 I joined ALTITUDE, a 5 piece cabaret / dance band. We played all over
the U.K. (Scotland, South Wales, the North East, Cumbria, Yorkshire, and the
Midlands) as well as Germany, Norway & Portugal before coming to South
Africa in 1982. The band broke up in 1984.

I returned to S.A. in 1985 as a booking agent for Mike Bourne Management. In
1988 I formed "THE ROCK & ROLL MADHOUSE" (a 50`s & 60`s tribute band).
We toured S.A., made 2 albums and appeared on a number of t.v. shows. After
"Madhouse" broke up I helped form "CHEERS COMEDY SHOWBAND". We
held down a residency in Durban for 4 years at "Your Father`s Moustache".

In 1996 I appeared in the show "TAKE THIS" at the Carousel Casino S.A. I went
on to become the musical director and appear in the following shows "BLITZ",
"INFERNO", "SOULED-OUT", "LIGHTS, CAMERA, ACTION", "MAGICAL
MOMENTS" & "8Tz".

More recently, I have been playing in a 4 piece dance band called "STYLE".

We play a mixture of top 20 & Oldies.

At the same time I work under the company names of "MADHOUSE MUSIC" &
"SHOW DOCTOR ", putting together concepts & backtracks for various shows
and entertainers. I am very much involved with midi programming and hard
disk audio recording.
